2-candle pattern · bearish bias
Tweezer Top candlestick pattern
A tweezer top is two consecutive candles with matching or nearly matching highs after an advance, usually a green candle then a red one. The same high being rejected twice suggests resistance.
How to identify it
- A prior advance.
- Two candles with almost identical highs.
- Usually a green candle followed by a red one.
Where it matters: Appears after an advance, near a high.
What it means
Buyers failed to push through the same high twice.
What confirms it
A close below the low of the two candles.
What invalidates it
A close above the shared high.
Common mistakes
- Counting matching highs in a sideways range as a reversal.
