2-candle pattern · bullish bias
Bullish Harami candlestick pattern
A bullish harami is a large red candle followed by a small candle whose body sits inside the red body. It shows the selling has paused.
How to identify it
- A large red candle after a decline.
- A small candle (often green) whose body is inside the red body.
Where it matters: Appears after a decline, near a low.
What it means
Momentum slowing. It is a weaker signal than an engulfing pattern.
What confirms it
A close above the first candle's open, which is the basis of the three inside up pattern.
What invalidates it
A close below the first candle's low.
Common mistakes
- Treating a harami as a full reversal on its own.
